We are sisters
who grew up
surrounded by
pets. As
children, we
constantly fed
stray cats and
occasionally
snuck them up to
our rooms for
shelter and
love. It pained
us to see these
innocent animals
left by their
owners to fend
for themselves.
This used to
drive our mother
crazy and she
nicknamed one of
us Katzenmutter
(cat
mother), a name
she uses to this
day.

What made us
fall for the Birman breed?
-
In 2002, while
visiting a
friend’s house,
we saw the most
stunning cat we
had ever laid
eyes on. She was
so graceful and
friendly that we
both decided we
wanted one, and
our search
began. We had no
prior knowledge
that this
beautiful Birman
breed existed.

Once we had a
Birman of our
own, we thought
it would be a
wonderful
experience to
become breeders.
As cat fanciers,
we had been
exposed to a
number of
different cat
breeds, but none
as loving and
affectionate as
the Birmans we
have come to
know and adore.
This is how
Extravagante
Birmans got its
start.

At Extravagante
Birmans:
-
We pride
ourselves in
having a clean,
healthy
environment for
our precious
cats. They are
provided with an
abundance of
love and
attention,
surrounded by
children and
adults. They are
a big part of
our family’s
lives and we
always have
their best
interest at
heart.
All of our cats
receive annual
veterinary
examinations,
and are
carefully
screened for
health problems
prior to
breeding. Kittens
are given their
vaccinations and
are de-wormed.
All of our
pet quality
kittens will be
spayed or
neutered prior
to leaving our
cattery. This
not only helps
with doing our
part against the
growing pet
overpopulation
problem, also
prevents
irresponsible
breeding.
Our kittens
receive a
veterinary
examination to
screen for
health problems
prior to
adoption.

Our goal as
breeders:

It
is important to
us that our cats
and kittens
receive the
individual
attention they
need, so we
divide them
between our two
homes. We do not
wish to take on
more than we can
personally love
and nurture. We
also show our Birmans to
continue
improving the
breed within the
Birman
standard. We
keep the
bloodlines as
unrelated as
possible. As
breeders, we
have the
reputation of
having a clean,
loving
environment with
very well
socialized cats
and kittens.
We are careful
to ensure that
they are being
placed with
only loving,
responsible
families who
will provide a
safe, happy and
permanent home.

colour
possibilities
currently
are
-
seal, blue,
lilac and
chocolate
points,
-
with
occasional tortie
and lynx
patterns.
